What is Invisalign®? 

The Invisalign system corrects misalignment of the teeth, including mild cases of overbites and underbites, using a series of clear, plastic aligners. Your teenager will wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them to eat meals and brush their teeth. Typically, treatment with Invisalign will include between 20 or 30 clear aligners, each gradually shifting and guiding the teeth into the correct position. By the time your teenager slips in their last aligner, their teeth will have undergone a complete orthodontic transformation.

Treatment with Invisalign typically takes between one and two years. However, the exact amount of time will depend on the severity of each patient’s smile condition.

Invisalign is a suitable treatment option for most teenagers who are seeking to correct their misaligned teeth. However, in cases of severe misalignment or extensive dental work, braces may be the more appropriate alternative. We do not recommend this choice for children because their jaws are still developing, leading to results that are less retainable.
